About Altgrid Energy
An owner-run solar and electrical contractor based in Noordhoek, serving Cape Town's Southern Suburbs and Deep South.
Engineer-led, owner-run
Altgrid Energy is led by a qualified engineer with an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, who is also a registered Installation Electrician. We have been designing solar systems in Cape Town since 2015.
Being owner-run means the person who designs your system is involved from the first site visit to commissioning, and stays your point of contact afterwards.
How we work
- Systems sized from real consumption, not standard packages
- Honest advice, including when a smaller or different system is the better choice
- Neat, compliant workmanship by our own crew
- CoC and SSEG paperwork handled in-house
- After-sales support that continues once the job is done

Noordhoek, Fish Hoek, Kommetjie, Scarborough, Simon's Town, Glencairn, Capri, Sun Valley, Constantia, Tokai, Bishopscourt, Claremont, Newlands, Rondebosch and Kenilworth, plus selected projects in the Winelands and Overberg.
